COURSE CODE PUAFER006

Chief Fire Warden training course is delivered and statement of attainment is issued by Training Aid Australia Pty Ltd (RTO No 91411).

Training Aid Australia is accredited by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course and meets the Australian Standards AS 3745 and AS 4083.

Course Information

Lead an Emergency Control Organisation (Chief Fire Warden) training is required for members of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO), including:

  • Chief wardens
  • Deputy chief wardens
  • Communications officers.

It benefits those involved in managing facility emergencies.

Topics covered:

  • Prepare for an emergency in a facility
  • Undertake pre-emergency planning
  • Take appropriate actions in an emergency
  • Conclude emergency

This course supersedes and is equivalent to PUAWER006B Lead an emergency control organisation.

What will you receive

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • Statement of Attainment issued by Edway Training with units of competency: PUAFER006

What will you learn

Chief Fire Warden training covers:

  • Identification and response to emergency signals and warnings.
  • Conduct and maintenance of emergency planning and training.
  • Command, control, and coordination of facility emergency responses.
  • Effective communication with emergency services and management during and after emergencies.
  • Chief Fire Warden training course consists of PowerPoint presentation, classroom and practical activities, videos and end of the day assessment.

 

Course Requirements

Identification

Participants MUST provide one form of photo I.D.  (e.g. passport, Australian driver’s licence, proof of age card, student card).

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED
if participants do not provide a valid form of I.D.

Attendance

Participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time of the course to complete the necessary registration paperwork.

ENTRY TO THE COURSE WILL BE REFUSED
if participants arrive 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time.

LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy)

The basic understanding, reading and writing of English is required.

As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.

All students enrolling into any Edway Training courses must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)

From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.

STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.

Training Prerequisite

Participants MUST HOLD PUAFER005 “Operate as part of an emergency control organisation” qualification.

Statement of the Attainment must be presented on or before the training day as proof of qualification.

if participant does not present current PUAFER005 qualification.
